I started out in the tech world six years ago, and I’ve noticed that nowadays, 90% of programmers don’t read articles or seek to learn anymore—they just practice what’s known as “vibecoding.” In my opinion, AI should be used, but for learning purposes—not just for copy-pasting. What do you think about that?

Honest version of this: reading and building aren’t opposites, and the failure mode was never “using AI” — it’s running code you can’t explain afterwards. My own rule got simple: read the generated code line by line and be able to say why each piece is there. If I can’t, I ask for an explanation of that one piece before executing anything.
What taught me more than any article was picking a small project, finishing it, then rewriting the ugliest part with no AI at all. The rewrite is where the reading finally sticks.

I partly agree with your opinion, but think about it: code generated after reviewing and asking for clarification if you have doubts is bad. You don’t learn as much compared to writing it yourself.
