Adding a coach directory to a plans-only platform

The product started as a way to follow structured plans. The obvious next step people kept asking for was simpler than I expected: just let me talk to a real coach.

So I built a browsable, filterable directory of coaches across multiple US cities — profiles, an application flow, and email notifications so coaches actually know when someone reaches out. I launched in NYC first to validate the whole loop, then expanded city by city. Here’s how I scoped it down so the first version shipped instead of stalling.
