Hey everyone,
Quick backstory on why I built this. Giving away stuff you no longer need through Facebook groups or social media is a mess: those platforms were never built for it. It’s a race to comment first, there’s no order, no trust, endless junk messages, and half the time the item just goes to whoever is loudest, not whoever actually needs it.
So I built a tool made specifically for it. It’s an app/website where people give away objects they no longer use No selling, no fees. You post an item, people who want it line up in an orderly queue (no comment race), you pick who gets it, and you chat directly to arrange the handoff. Reviews build trust, and there’s no noise.
Where it’s at: it’s been live since May in 3 cities (New York, London and Milan), with 545 listings online right now.
The part I’m a bit proud of: this didn’t start as a weekend project. It grew out of a full marketplace platform I’d been building and refining for years for a business. I forked that mature codebase and reshaped it into this giveaway concept, so under the hood it’s more solid than a typical MVP (real geo search, direct chat, multi-language, moderation, the works).
Stack, for the curious: Laravel + Inertia + Vue 3 + Tailwind, PostgreSQL/PostGIS for the geo side, deployed on a modest VPS.
What I’d love feedback on:
As a user, what would stop you from actually posting an item, or from requesting one?
Anything in the flow that feels off, confusing, or missing?

Roast it, be brutally honest, that’s what helps most.
Thanks!
