Hey DEV ๐Ÿ‘‹

I’m Azizbek from Tashkent. I build free EdTech tools for Uzbek students, and lately I’ve been diving hard into open source.

What I shipped PRs to

  • freeCodeCamp (450k+ stars) – wording fixes in curriculum lectures
  • tesseract.js – remove Open Collective postinstall script
  • highlight.js – highlight self as a JS built-in
  • npmx.dev – quick copy for package version
  • kana-dojo – add a new color theme
  • FableCut – luxury title style (already merged)

What I learned

  1. Mid-size repos (1k-5k stars) often review faster than mega repos
  2. Small clear PRs get merged more than giant ones
  3. Following the repo’s existing style matters more than being fancy
  4. Your GitHub profile compounds fast when you ship consistently

What I’m building myself

  • Avazov IELTS – free IELTS prep with AI writing feedback
  • Chisel – 200+ browser utilities for developers

Still early. Still shipping.

If you’re new to open source: start with good first issue, keep the PR tiny, and write a clean description.
