Why I Stopped Building CRUD Apps and Started Building Production-Grade Backend Systems

For a long time, I believed finishing CRUD tutorials meant I was ready for backend development.

I was wrong.

Real backend engineering begins where tutorials end.

Over the last year, I’ve been building production backend systems with Java and Spring Boot, and I realized the biggest lessons aren’t about writing controllers—they’re about architecture, security, testing, deployment, monitoring, and designing software that people can actually use.
